GNF: The mayor holds his own parade
As indicated in the previous issue of this newsletter, Middleton mayor Gurdip Brar did not appreciate being excluded from participating in the Good Neighbor Festival parade (along with all other politicians). It is after all one of his main annual campaign events, and although he has very little of value to contribute once elected to public office, he excels at campaigning and self-promotion. (Not to mention that he is sitting on hundreds of little American flags that he bought to distribute at public events.) And so, not surprisingly, he found a work-around to the ban on political participation and campaigning in the parade: He worked the crowd before the parade (pictured).
