Many Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District representatives and some members of the public attended the official ribbon-cutting of the new and (hopefully) improved high school on Thursday, October 6. The official line-up of speakers only included people affiliated with the high school, leaving mayor Gurdip Brar, who had apparently had other ideas, frustrated. He hung around the School Board members and official speakers anyway, since that was where the TV cameras were pointed.
'Complete streets' resolution:

On Tuesday, October 4, the Middleton City Council approved a resolution adopting a 'complete streets' policy, which has the intent of making all city streets safe and suitable for all users as much as possible. Whether it has any practical implications remains to be seen, however.
