Business spotlight: Wrench Auto Service
Wrench Auto Service was founded more than twenty years ago in Middleton by Ben Beere and Reid Luedtke. The full-service auto repair shop handles most American, Japanese and Korean brands in their state-of-the-art repair facility on Laura Lane, where their ASE-certified technicians use modern computer technology and advanced automotive techniques to 'fix it right the first time'. The shop also allows for proper handling of all waste oils, oil filters, antifreeze and gear lubes to ensure all these petroleum products and used tires are safely recycled by their licensed industry partners. In addition, they recycle 100% of the cardboard and paper shipping materials that they receive from new part orders, as well as all old metal car parts that are removed from vehicles. Wrench Auto Service is so confident in their customer service and work quality that they back all repairs with a 12-month/12,000 mile parts and labor warranty.

Should elected officials get a raise?
Middleton Common Council member and Finance Committee chair Lisa Janairo (District 6) wants compensations for the City's elected officials - aldermen, mayor and municipal judge - to be reviewed. The current amounts have been in effect since May 1, 2007 for the mayor and the judge (both $14,400 per year), and since May 1, 2008 for all aldermen ($5,800 per year). The reason behind her suggestion is that the amounts have been eroded by inflation since the last adjustments, and should therefore be reconsidered in view of the current economic situation.
