TIF District #3: The end is nigh, for better or for better
The City is beginning to prepare for a time after TIF District #3. One of two TIF districts in Middleton (the other is TIF District #5), it was created in 1993 and has become one of the most successful TIF districts in the state. Originally scheduled to be closed in 2020, it got a ten-year extension from the state legislature to 2030, with the possibility of another one-year extension for affordable housing purposes only (as per state law).
