'Week without driving': Do they do as they say?
Two members of the student-led initiative Middleton Meals Matter (MMM), Noah Duckett and Wyatt Ehrhardt, received a monetary donation from Middleton author and Kiwanis member Kathy Nieber from the proceeds of her book 'Blankie's Makeover' (all three pictured).
"Our Middleton community, including the awesome Kiwanis Key Club members, is incredibly supportive. The Fourth Annual Middleton Book Fair, sponsored by George Zens, was a great event showcasing local authors. I got my books in kids' hands and the MMM benefited as well," Kathy Nieber said.
As members of the Middleton High School Key Club, a Kiwanis International partnership, Noah Duckett and Wyatt Ehrhardt formed Middleton Meals Matter, a group of volunteers committed to fighting hunger in our community. This summer, they sponsored two food drives for Way Forward, collecting 4,100 pounds of food and $2,400 in donations. The group has another drive scheduled for today, Saturday, September 28, at Metro Market in Middleton Hills, right before the end of Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about hunger in America and inspire action.
