Middleton Optimist Club November 'student of the month': Nuha Khatri

Pictured left to right are Sana Khatri (mother), Jeremy Geiszler, Heidi DeRidder, Nuha Khatri, Steve Britt, Kristi Warriner, Carol Maki, Brad Keil and Farhan Khatri (father).

Nuha Khatri's faculty advisor during her four years has been Heidi DeRidder, who provided some comments on her: 'Immensely thoughtful about school and how she treats others; incredibly gifted academically; the kindest and most lovely student; has positive energy every day.' She concluded by saying that the school 'is so much better because she is there'.

Nuha Khatri has UW-Madison and UC-Irvine as her top two college choices, where she plans to study finance and international business. She currently serves as president of DECA-Wisconsin, and her team competed at the international level in California. She is part of the Future Business Leaders organization and the National Honor Society. Over the past six years she and her twin sister have joined their mother on a number of community service projects as part of the National Charity League. She and her sister also operate a small business featuring handmade accessories with part of the proceeds donated to the Save the Turtles non-profit organization. A huge passion for her is her engagement with 'Cards for Cancers' where she and others produce handwritten notes of encouragement and send them to cancer patients across the country.
